How can we help?
Answers to common questions about Whenlit, and how to reach us when something isn't working.
Contact us
Email pandafeeeder@gmail.com, or open Whenlit and choose Settings → Send feedback. Feedback sent from the app includes your app version and device model, which helps us look into problems faster. Add an email address if you would like a reply. We usually reply within a few days.
Free and Pro
Free covers today and tomorrow: light windows, sunrise and sunset scores, weather for your current location, one manually chosen place per day, one-time sun, light and moon reminders, and sharing.
Pro adds the 7-day light forecast with the week's best day, cloud layers and visibility for each day, comparing light across up to three places, any date on the Sky page, repeating and custom reminders, additional themes, and background weather refresh. Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase; prices are shown in the app.
Subscriptions, restoring and refunds
Restore a purchase: open Whenlit, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought with.
Manage or cancel a subscription: tap Manage subscriptions in Whenlit's Settings, or open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. If you started a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Weather and the light score
Weather comes from Apple Weather. The light score estimates how good sunrise or sunset light is likely to be from cloud cover, cloud height and visibility. It is a forecast, not a guarantee, and it is less certain further ahead. Forecasts refresh when you open the app; with Pro, iOS may also refresh them in the background.
If weather doesn't load, check your internet connection and try again. Saved forecasts stay available for a while and show how old they are.
Location and time zones
Whenlit uses your location to calculate the sun and moon for where you are. If you'd rather not share it, deny permission and choose a city instead. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Whenlit → Location.
If you see “Using a temporary time zone”, the place name couldn't be looked up (for example while offline), so Whenlit estimated the local time zone from a nearby city. Choose your city from the place list to confirm local times.
Reminders don't arrive
Make sure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Whenlit, and check that a Focus mode isn't silencing them. Reminders are scheduled on your device, so they work offline. On Free, preset reminders are one-time; repeating and custom reminders need Pro.
Widgets and Apple Watch
To add a widget, touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and search for Whenlit. If a widget or the Apple Watch app shows old information, open Whenlit on your iPhone once to refresh it, and keep your Watch near your iPhone.
AR view and compass
The AR view needs camera access and a calibrated compass. If directions look wrong, move away from magnets, metal and car mounts, then move your iPhone in a figure-eight to recalibrate. The AR view is available on devices that support ARKit.
